Keyword Domains and Mini-Sites
Kevin Ham is the biggest dotcom mogul you've probably never heard of...He earns a reported $70,000,000 per year from a portfolio of 300,000 keyword domain names. His fortune arose from taking advantage of type-in traffic from domains such as hoteldeals.com and weddingshoes.com and earning revenue via sponsored links.
Over the last ten years the exponential growth of search engines, in particular Google, has reduced type-in traffic significantly. In turn, the revenues generated by these domains has declined too.
Today a new breed of keyword domains can be found in the form of mini-sites. These mini-sites take advantage of search to generate traffic and with that traffic new revenue streams.
