About Us
SEO Conference in Leeds? That'll never work!
I've never been one to listen to reason or logic, so after attending tons of SEO events and speaking at more than a few, I decided it was time to put my own spin on things, so I emailed a few friends in the industry and asked them if they fancy coming to Leeds, most said yes. So, in March 2009, we hosted the first Think Visibility and I knew we had something special!
Rather than wait an entire year to do it again, I thought why not make it every 6 months, not so long that people forget each other, but not so soon that people won't make the effort to come to Leeds so in September 2009 we did it again.
Learning Experience
I'll be the first to admit that the second one wasn't the best conference experience ever; We grew too quickly and got a little ahead of ourselves, ticket sales didn't match up to what we were expecting and lots of things went over budget (Think Visibility also caused a few problems for the job where I was working at that point).
However, feedback from the conference was positive and people wanted to do it again. As far as Hodgetastic Ltd goes, Think Visibility #2 was the worst conference we did, as a learning experience in what not to do, it was priceless.
2010 and Beyond...
- March 2010 — back on track and back to basics, less of the polish and more great content and great experiences. We put a lot of work into this one and it paid off, selling out with over a month to go and with more capacity, bringing the after party closer to the venue, lessons were most certainly learned from September!
- September 2010 — could we beat last year's curse of lacklustre ticket sales and over budgeting? We've tried a lot of new things this year, including adding a whole new floor to the conference allowing us to increase capacity to over 200 attendees. The team is slowly growing as well and each conference they go beyond the call of duty to keep my stress levels low.
- March 2011 — the 5th Think Visibility conference and... well I wouldn't want to spoil it!
